A veteran voice in sports entertainment, Kris has announced over 1,600 games and events, beginning with his current role with The Nashville Sounds, the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. His resume includes Vanderbilt University Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Volleyball, Swimming, and Lacrosse, Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball, MTSU Football, TSSAA Championships, and more. A 2021 finalist for the Tennessee Titans’ public address announcer, he remains on standby as an NFL announcer and is well-known for his high-energy delivery and professional polish. He has also hosted/emceed an American Idol hometown finalist tour.
Kris began his career as a volunteer in education and digital media, spending 28 years at White House High School where he eventually taught marketing and media, co-advised DECA, and built Tennessee’s top-ranked high school digital media brand: The Blue Devil Network and White House BDP. He was a sports information director and a coach. His innovative work in student-led broadcasting and photography earned consistent statewide recognition, including a website ranked second in the nation for high school athletics with Varsity News Network, and for 37 consecutive months as the top-ranked high school athletics website in Tennessee. The White House BDP brand was pivotal, as it began by simply keeping football stats and play charts for the football team, and evolved into a vision where every athletic team, cheer, band, chorus, theatre and clubs all received fair and equal representation in media across the school landscape. While his dream to build a student-led news network within the school was a future vision and a goal, he departed the school as his own kids reached high school graduation and he recovered from a serious illness suffered during the pandemic, starting SMS Multimedia to branch those goals into a personal and family brand and reshape his schedule. He has also contributed as a writer and editor for Gannett publications and Main Street Media. Understanding that media is multi-faceted and complex, he worked as a bivocational leader in education and ministry. He founded Revolution Church in White House from a kitchen table vision to a 10.5 acre property and established non-profit community ministry, all while balancing his role in sports and media.
Kris holds a B.A. in Leadership and Management from Trevecca Nazarene University and a Master of Education from Union University, after starting his broadcasting career at Volunteer State in Gallatin for the number-one ranked Pioneers baseball program and head coach Kenny Thomas from 1994-96. He is a former chamber of commerce president, board member for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, networking chairman and missionary to Jamaica, Niger in West Africa, and the American Red Cross tornado relief.
Whether working with small businesses or large-scale productions, Kris Freeman blends creative vision with professional expertise—delivering results that elevate every brand he touches.

Personal Life
Kris has been married to his wife Jennifer for 27 years. The two met while he was a college baseball play-by-play announcer and she was the assistant manager at the radio station where they worked. Jennifer now serves as the payroll coordinator for the Country Music Hall of Fame and manages accounts and finance for SMS Multimedia.
They have two children: Madison, 22, a law student at Northeastern University who also works for the Boston Red Sox; and Noah, 20, a student and employee with Blue Raider Athletics at Middle Tennessee State University, and aspiring broadcaster and photographer. The Freeman family lives in Tennessee with their energetic four-year-old labradoodle, Dolly, who loves car rides, French fries, watermelon and sleeping in the SMS Multimedia office.
